NSA Boston 1-Day 2016 Presenters

International Stuttering Awareness Day, our 1-Day Conference, Upcoming Meetings, and More!

Hi Everyone!

Last weekend, we celebrated International Stuttering Awareness Day on October 22nd at our fourth annual NSA Boston 1-Day Conference & CEU at Boston University!

I am thankful for our team of presenters who included: Diane Constantino (who is also our wonderful liaison at BU), Sheryl Gottwald, Ken Melnick, Nancy Ribbler, Jess Giuffre, and myself.

I also have to give a quick shout out to my mom and sister, Annette and Rosemary, who greeted all of you at registration and helped to make sure our day ran smoothly!

But the biggest THANK YOU of all goes to all of YOU! From kids to parents to adults to SLPs, this day was what it was because of all of you. Thank you for choosing to share your Saturday with us, for telling your story, and for just being you. I am already looking forward to what will be our fifth annual NSA Boston 1-Day Conference & CEU next year!

But before that, we have plenty of things to look forward to within the NSA…

The Boston Adult Chapter will meet THIS WEDNESDAY, November 2nd at 7 PM at Boston University’s Sargent College (635 Commonwealth Avenue) in Room 303. We will have time to debrief on International Stuttering Awareness Day, as well as sharing a conversation on acceptance, and much more.

Then, the *NEW* NSA Boston Family Chapter will meet next week, onWednesday, November 9th! We will also meet at BU’s Sargent College in Room 303 at 7 PM. This is our inaugural meeting and it is bound to be a fun one! Kids and teens who stutter, along with their families, are welcome to attend.

With the holiday season upon us (how did that happen!?), there will be holiday happenings coming up for all three NSA Boston Chapters so keep an eye out for details!

Finally, I wanted to share with you that our NSA Boston Chapters now have a beautifully designed website for all things stuttering in Boston. I am very grateful to Stavros Ladeas from the NSA who volunteered his time to design our website. Check it out here: http://www.nsachapters.org/boston/

Thanks again for being apart of the stuttering community here in Boston — see you soon!

Happy Halloween!
