Ho-ho-ho… hola! (stuttering humor!)

This past Sunday, December 11th, the Dallas Chapter of the National Stuttering Association held it’s annual Christmas party, and here’s a recap of what happened!

After a few hiccups caused by some GPSs going awry, we all gathered at the lovely home of Valerie and Hector Dayer, who graciously offered to host this party. With an enormous food selection that included tamales, pizza, “heart-enlarging punch”, corn dogs, tostadas, cheesecake, cookies, tiramisú and a few bottles of wine, we were set to have a great time, and we certainly did.

Since it was a very special occasion, as well as our last event of the year, we were joined by quite a few out-of-towners like Jazmynn and Mike Davis who drove all the way from Arkansas, Paige White from Oklahoma, Kenton Prescott from Florida, and Tammy Flores, the Chief Executive of the NSA, who flew directly from New York to talk about the upcoming 2017 Dallas Conference and create some excitement for it. What a fun mix of people in town just for this party!

We played games such as “Catchphrase” (talk fast and don’t stutter!), watched some football (just don’t talk about the end result) and ended the night with an “Ugly Sweater Contest” with a winner and like 8 runner-ups.

Valerie and Hector, thank you for taking us in with open arms.

Happy holidays and see you in January!
