The Duluth Minnesota Chapter of the National Stuttering Association met for two hours on Wednesday, February 17th. We were joined by guest speaker Craig Muckler and his film crew. Craig grew up with a stutter in a nearby town in northern Minnesota. After college, he moved to Hollywood to pursue a successful career in acting, writing, producing, and even hosting his own show. At first, stuttering provided many challenges for him in show business. Craig eventually learned to embrace his stuttering and use it as something that gave him a uniqueness in the crowded business. Craig shared many stories with us, including a time when he joked about his stuttering over a beer with Robin Williams.
Craig is currently involved in writing several documentaries, including one about stuttering! Some footage from our meeting may make it into his documentary (permission was granted from all of the attendees before the meeting started).
