We had a great turnout for our March 18 meeting.  A total of eleven people were in attendance including a visit from Jeff Fett, the Lansing area chapter leader who took the time and energy to travel to our meeting in Kalamazoo.  Jeff is a WMU alumnus, so he was back on familiar ground and was a great contributor to the meeting.  During introductions, we shared our favorite spring time activities.  Our meeting discussion focused around the question, “If you could go back in time and speak to yourself as a child who is stuttering, what advice would you give yourself, with the knowledge you now have?” Everyone had a lot to share in response to this question.  While the responses were quite varied, there was definitely a common theme around self-acceptance of stuttering and not letting others opinions unduly influence your view of yourself, your stuttering or your professional/personal goals.  Overall, it was a great meeting filled with fellowship, laughter and support.  Looking forward to our next meeting on April 15.
