February’s chapter meeting started with some good pizza and introductions. Everyone present introduced themselves to the group and discussed what they planned to do for the coming warmer weather and spring break. Then discussion turned to the recent events of a lady who stutters getting detained at an airport because of a stuttering block. A “stuttering identification card” that had been created because of this event was shown to the group. Members gave their opinions of whether they would use an identification card like the one proposed while traveling, as well as sharing some similar personal stories. Stuttering etiquette was also discussed, with members who stutter sharing with others how they prefer for their listeners who don’t stutter to react when they are in stuttering moments. Overall, really great conversation surrounding stuttering was had by all who attended, and we look forward to next month’s meeting. Hope to see you there!
