The October National Stuttering Association meeting involved watching a short clip on Joe Biden’s perspective on stuttering. The group then had discussions about any thoughts from the video. The topic of how we label ourselves was discussed, and also started conversation about how listening also contributes to functional communication. We ended the session with another video of Joe Biden writing a letter to his twelve year old self, and discussing how Vice President Biden didn’t dwell on stuttering, but instead talked highly about other aspects of his life that define him.
