Your Chapter Leaders

Kyle Pelkey

Originally from Watertown, CT, Kyle is currently a graduate student at Misericordia University in the Speech-Language Pathology Department. Kyle endured a long road consisting of two colleges (Merrimack College and King’s College) and two different majors (civil engineering and psychology) before finding his calling at Misericordia. Since becoming a member of the group in March of 2013, Kyle realized that he wanted to become a Speech-Language Pathologist and help people who stutter (like himself) cope with their communication disorder. Kyle became a Co-Chapter Leader of the group in August of 2014.

Apart from his work with the chapter and attending school at Misericordia, Kyle plays baseball in his home state of Connecticut during the summer in the Tri-State League. He enjoys fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Alexandra Irr

Alexandra Irr, from Bethlehem, PA, is a first year graduate student in Misericordia University’s Speech-Language Pathology program. Alex chose the field of speech-language pathology because it encompasses her passion to positively impact people’s lives by helping them communicate effectively.  Alex first became involved with the Northeast PA Chapter of the National Stuttering Association as a race coordinator for the 2016 3rd Annual Don’t Tell Me to Slow Down 5k. Alex looks forward to working diligently with Kyle to continue the success of the NEPA NSA Chapter in order to spread awareness and bring hope and empowerment to children and adults who stutter and their families.

When she is not completing grad school homework, Alex enjoys running and playing soccer with friends or hanging out with her three younger siblings and her two dogs, Penny and Lulu.
