Connecting to Other People who Stutter

  • Camp SAY is a 2 week camp for children who stutter, their young family members, and friends, ages 8-18. Kids come from across America to gain confidence, validation, and encouragement to pursue their dreams.

 

 

  •  FRIENDS is the only national organization dedicated solely to empowering young people who stutter and their families. Their mission is to provide support and education to children and teens who stutter, their families and clinicians.

 

  • LLLet Me Finish is a weeklong day camp for children who stutter from ages 6-11. Founded by 10 year old, Saadiq Wicks, he wishes to raise awareness of stuttering and bullying.

 

 

  • NSA Facebook Groups for parents and teens are closed, moderated groups that allow for safe, private environments to connect with others who understand your specific situation.

 

 

  • Stutter Social connects people who stutter through Google+ Hangouts. Hangouts are a free and fun way to see and talk with up to 10 people at a time across the globe!

 

  • StutterTalk is a non-profit organization dedicated to talking about stuttering. StutterTalk is the first and longest running podcast on stuttering.

 

 

  • Together We Act is a non-profit outreach theater company that is committed to educating, motivating, and building confidence in people who stutter, so that they may have the opportunity to realize and reach their full potential through the process of acting.

  • Enhancing Generalization is a brief video by Nina Reeves MS, CCC-SLP, on strategies for improving generalization. This video was prepared in recognition of National Stuttering Awareness Week (May 2013).

 

  • The International Stuttering Association is an international association made up of national groups which is guided by a board of directors with the aim of helping others understand stuttering.

 

  • Minimizing Bullying is a series of 4 brief videos by J. Scott Yaruss, PhD, CCC-SLP, on how to help children who stutter minimize bullying. This video was prepared in recognition of Better Hearing and Speech Month (May 2013).
