Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all staying safe at this unprecedented time.

I wanted to share with you an email we got from a member of the NSA Teen Advisory Council. The TAC is going to be holding a teens only video chat tonight on Zoom.

If you’re the parent of a teen, feel free to share this with them!

Miss you all!

Sarah

Subject: NSA Teen Talk Zoom Room

Dear Boston Family Chapter,
My name is Gabriela Perez, and I am from Guilford, Connecticut, but I am a student at the University of Chicago in Hyde Park.
I am currently serving a three-year term on the Teen Advisory Council. We have recently decided to focus on expanding connections among teens who stutter across the country. While we are able to connect at the annual NSA Conference, we acknowledge that many of us are unable to attend because of the cost, overall feasibility, and prior obligations. I am also sure that in this unprecedented time of COVID-19, many of us feel socially isolated.
We are excited to announce that today, Monday, April 6 at 7:00 PM EST the NSA TAC will be hosting our first NSA Teen Talk Zoom Room. The Teen Talk will be open to any teen nationwide- they are all encouraged to join! We ask that you forward this information to any teens within your chapter. The Teen Talk will be facilitated and moderated by the NSA Teen Program Coordinators and Teen Advisory Council. Please note, that to create as open and comfortable an environment as possible, this Teen Talk will be open to teens ONLY, and extra adults (adult Chapter Leaders, parents, adult people who stutter) will not be permitted to join the call. As mentioned above, the NSA Teen Talk will be carefully moderated.
Here are the connection details to join the NSA Teen Talk:

If you do not know how Zoom works, it’s really easy: you can sign up for a free account either on your cell phone and download the app, or on your computer. Once you create an account, you can click the link above or enter the Meeting ID and Password using the “Join Meeting” tab to join the Zoom Room.
I’ll admit that I was intimidated by this at first; I hate watching myself stutter live. Yet, I’ve observed many Adult Chapters that have launched virtual meetings, and indeed, they have been exploding with fun and excitement!
Hope you are staying safe in this unprecedented time!
Warmly,Gabriela Perez
