The Duluth Chapter of the National Stuttering Association presented a free screening of a very inspirational documentary on stuttering on Wednesday, April 5th. We had about 120 people in attendance, which far exceeded our expectations! Co-leaders Kay and Derrick gave a brief talk before the film started on NSA and support groups.
This documentary does an excellent job of showing the anxiety, worries, and emotional struggles that we all go through, not just those of us who stutter. The narrator explores his own experiences with stuttering and presents the stories of others who are part of the self-help movement within the stuttering community. If you haven’t watched “The Way We Talk”, I would definitely recommend it! I posted a link to the trailer below.
