Tonight we had an informative and inspirational meeting! The meeting began as usual with the reading of our opening words and introductions. We then proceeded to have an informative discussion about stuttering. During this discussion our attendees and co-chapter leaders talked about many different aspects of stuttering including its possible causes, treatment methods, and cure. The co-chapter leaders shared the latest research they have done about stuttering and informed the attendees about the latest advances in the field. One of the attendees told that she was teased and bullied as a child. She stressed to the co-chapter leaders (future SLP’s) that children who stutter must not be ashamed of their stutter. Instead they must be told that they can do anything they want in life and embrace their difference. We all left the meeting with a renewed sense of inspiration in regards to our stutter.
